Cultivating Healing Through Compassion & Insight

Hi there! I'm Natalie Gonzalez, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #162604) and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #22390) based in Los Angeles, California. I believe that everyone deserves a warm, nonjudgmental space to explore their inner world, make sense of their story, and move toward a life that feels more grounded, connected, and authentic. My path into this work has been shaped by both my education and my hands-on experience in the community.

I earned my B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles, and I also hold three Associate of Arts (A.A.) degrees from Compton Community College in Sociology, Psychology, and General Studies in Social and Natural Sciences. These studies gave me a strong foundation in understanding people, relationships, and the systems we live in, especially within diverse and historically marginalized communities.

In my clinical work, I have had the privilege of supporting families, children, individuals, parents, and couples through a wide range of life transitions and challenges. I have worked with elementary and middle school–aged children, helping them navigate big feelings, school stress, family changes, and identity development. I also gained valuable practicum and internship experience at a shelter for women, families, and children, where I supported clients facing trauma, housing instability, and complex relational dynamics. These experiences deepened my commitment to providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed care that honors each person’s resilience and lived experience.

Therapeutically, I tend to gravitate toward Solution-Focused Family Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I appreciate how these approaches can help clients identify their strengths, clarify their goals, and build practical tools for coping and change. At the same time, I know that no single approach works for everyone. Each client is different, and I adjust the modalities I use based on what you want from therapy, what feels comfortable for you, and what best supports your healing and growth.

My style is collaborative and flexible—we will check in together about what is working and what is not, so that therapy feels like a space that truly belongs to you. I have experience working with families, children, individuals, parents, and couples from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and I am especially mindful of the ways that race, culture, gender, sexuality, immigration status, and systemic oppression can shape a person’s mental health.

A goal of mine is to eventually expand my work to include military personnel and their families, as I recognize the unique stressors, transitions, and relational challenges that can come with military life. Above all, my hope is that you feel seen, heard, and supported when you sit with me—whether in person or via telehealth.

Together, we will move at a pace that feels right for you, explore the patterns that are no longer serving you, and work toward building healthier, more fulfilling relationships with yourself and others.
